Barack Obama and Racism in America

My descriptions of Western culture to speak that we believe in democracy, women's rights, separation of church and state, and individualism. People are surprised to hear that these universal beliefs. I declare that Americans often think wrongly, its values are universal. But when I describe the West as anti-racist, really indignant. "Certainly we are very racist" comes the reply. The silence followed by my response that we have the places of the earth or less racistHistory. While Barack Hussein Obama campaign theme to enter international news, we need to set the record straight, Western countries like America leads the world in the fight against racism.

The Americans once again be overlooked too often to the world the difference. Korea is very racist. My wife is Korean. Walking, as we have had strangers stop and tell us which is a shame. At a jazz concert two years ago, rocks were thrown at us. This is their culture. Ibring this up not to think that we should condemn, or get to follow them "human rights". Bring this to say that such behavior would be outrageous to be incredible here. Even if we dare to whisper support for these ideas, we have the right to act on their fear. In our society, I am proud to write his name are some things worse than a racist.

But racism is not just attitudes. Korean, Chinese and Japanese are overtly racist laws. IfShe is not the category of competition law can only be a citizen of these countries, unless the marriage with one of them. If you marry someone, right off the line and wait a couple of years, you may receive citizenship in Asia. But even then, the "mixed blood" children would not be allowed in the army, They may be excluded from public school and have many jobs and private, it is impossible to reach for them. This is not to condemn, this is the way to anchor their identity. OurIdea that should not be discriminated against on the basis of race is noble, but it is only ours. However, we are very proud that our laws, unlike those in other countries actually prohibit racism.

Until the United States and much of our history, most of the identity of the nation based on race. German was not only a kind of citizenship, was a race. Japan is a racist term. I can tell you what looks like a Filipino. But I can not tell you what it looks like an American. Usare the exception to the rule that no race. The traditional Indian caste system is largely based on color. And in countries like those in Latin America, insofar as it is, mobility is reduced significantly by race here. Western nations are pioneers in the concept of race-blind society.

I'm boasting. Yes I am. But this is necessary. While racial discrimination is illegal here, while affirmative action programs for minorities, whileWe also have an African-American candidate for office, feels that America is a very racist country. This depends on our respect to some unattainable ideal for us and not from the outside world. While Barack Hussein Obama for president and the race always discussed, it is important to note that it is running. Besides being a good candidate for our national leaders is remarkable. Who has this pride need us, would face aobjective comparison. The world sees our elections, is for us to boast that America is less racist people on earth is important. This fact should be proud to see the description of the West.
