To tell the truth, the whole thing really discourages me Proposition 8 for a while '. It made me angry that so many Americans would go so out of their way just to hurt me and people like me. I like the idea that mind and I'm proud that I understand why some people disapprove of my sexual preferences. But in reality I do not know. Not really. I mean, it bothers me that they are heterosexual, and although I find the taste of the lifestyle, I will not go aheadthe road so as to not be able to make them happy. I certainly do not contribute posters hateful comments bad message to them and spend my hard earned money to ensure that they can not be together in the same way that I could significantly.
Perhaps the problem for us. We are not prepared to attack their rights as a means of enforcing our own. Perhaps begging leftover food from their buffet is not the answer. If equal protection under the law is the basis for our argument for equality,Then, perhaps, the strategy we have to do with the attacks, their rights, we do not pray, instead of for them.
You can not marry and the benefits of the Union, then get married, instead of this endless struggle, why not just start asking for their rights, there is removed, denied the union of marriage? If you must have married survivors social security benefits so that benefits are no longer given on the basis of marriage. If eachAmerican can not have, then nobody should. Perhaps trying to take away these things that marriage as an institution to make valuable and desirable, we can make them understand how important marriage really is for every American. Not only for heterosexuals.
If you intend to use religion for this campaign of hatred and prejudice, then I do not spread these views of another generation easier for them further. I do not want to be taught their religious opinions orrespected in any place or institution that support my tax dollars (especially since I pay more tax than of her as "single person). I have never voted to keep the prayer of schools or religious organizations to limit the status of tax exemption "in. But my thinking on this issue is evolving. The freedom to practice their faith freely is important, I know, but if your faith requires that persecute you, and other evil, then there must be limits.
I think I'm just tiredwaiting. Tired of trying, and hope that patients will change over time, people. We continue to emphasize the disparity that exists between us, and trying, without understanding how the change brutal and hateful as those we oppose. I doubt there will ever be. I do not think my circle of gay friends I have in them the mentality of people who seem to hate and fear us more than any other mirror.
Christmas is just around the corner, and my boyfriend of seven years and II'm still here. Together again. Still Loving each other and try to make a life and future together. I do not know what they get in this year, but I know what will be left. It will not be something I always wanted to give them a wedding ring.
Thanks To : Proposition 8
