What is like living in Scottsdale, Arizona?

I moved to Scottsdale in August 1976. So, someone calls me a native. But for those of you who have never heard or Scottsdale, let me tell you why it is so famous. It 'was the winter residence of Frank Lloyd Wright built Taliesin West as his retirement. It 'been a favorite of local and Charles Wrigley. More recently, the home of Mike Tyson, Michael Jordan, Charles Barkley, and Muhammad Ali, all the houses nearby. Robert Kiyosaki (Rich Dad, Poor Dad) and Go Daddy (domain providers) aretheir activities here. It 's the path for the TPC golf course, a favorite of the Pro Tour We are the Spring Training home of the San Francisco Giants and Chicago Cubs host the neighboring towns, with more than half of the teams of Major League Baseball. The next year, near Glendale is known as a small event like the Superbowl. Furthermore, we believe that Barrett-Jackson auction of vintage cars for years.

We Phoenix border in the west, south Tempe and Mesa to the east. The population isOver 250,000 and our income is about $ 20,000 above the national average. We Scottsdale Community College Artichokes when the Fightin '(no joke) and a private airport.

But our time is leading to new arrivals. Phoenix summers are playing in a cool 105-110 degrees from June to September notorious. But the rest of the year may be in the 60 and 80 are of very low humidity. Almost never snows or frosts. Everything and the place is well airconditioned to offset the scorching temperatures. We are a desert rain is so rare. We average less than seven centimeters per year and most days are sunny and cloud-free. The only pollution comes from neighboring cities and drag one of our traffic on two highways. We have some nice malls with high-end designer shops and malls normal Wal-Mart. But what distinguishes us from many other cities, our environment.

As I said, there have been built on a desert, moreIn particular, the Sonoran Desert. So we have a spectacular view of the mountains and arroyos, cactus and tall Saguaros. There are palm trees of various sizes that can reach 50 meters in height. Many houses use xeroscaping grass and plants not native to exclude. Rockscaped yards are common. Another common feature is the ranch style home built on one floor. Many have to fight terracotta roofs and stucco exterior of the sun. There are also plenty of above ground pools. It is not aLuxury. Most homes have central air conditioning and ceiling fan. Floors are a common sight in every price category, composed of many Mexican tiles. citrus trees, orange lemon and grapefruit, growing everywhere. Unfortunately, to do scorpions, rattlesnakes and black widows. We are home to Gila monsters and other smaller lizards. Add in the Road Runners and you have the coyotes and wild image.

So why did I so much like Scottsdale? Well, it's very different from Red Bank, New Jerseywhere I grew up. I enjoy sunny days on the western landscape, the lack of crowd and relaxed lifestyle. A little 'harmonics California without the beach, although I can continue to Rocky Point and was on a Mexican beach in 4.5 hours or San Diego in six hours. Are able to Las Vegas in 45 minutes by plane. There is great Mexican food, modern buildings, low crime, good schools and medical facilities, state-of-the-art. Each year we receive many retirees from the Midwest. Most have vacationed here forYears, just waiting for the opportunity to have a winter home here.

One might ask what is the point of telling me all this? They appeal to the Department of Tourism, to encourage you to visit or move here? Heck no! Although I love living here, I hope you stay where you are. I hope that does not move a single bed again here to push our streets and shops. But this will not happen, I fear. So, I would emphasize the negative. Houses and apartments are not cheap in summera bitch, we have only two roads, speeders with a radar picture NAB, and, unfortunately, Mike Tyson. This should give you a fixed stop on tracks. Did I mention he was killed, Bob Crane of Hogan's Heroes fame in a Scottsdale motel? Hopefully this is the last straw. Now listen to complaints, return to your task and clear the snow accumulated on the driveway.
